HWF Gives PG Scholarships to 200 WB Meritorious Students

Human Welfare Foundation in collaboration with Students Islamic Organisation of India, West Bengal and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind West Bengal Zone organised a PG Scholarships Distribution Programme at TB Association Hall, Near Ladies Park, Park Circus, Kolkata on 28 April. They offered Loan Scholarships to 200 PG Meritorious Students of various streams around West Bengal. The programme started with recitation of the Qur’ān by Moqbul Hussain, while Inaugural Speech was delivered by Mosiur Rahman, Zonal President SIO WB. Mr. Masud Alam, Regional Coordinator, HWF, briefly introduced the activities of HWF in the state. Thereafter Dr. Abdul Majeed, Director Moulana Azad Academy, addressed the students.

The next session started with the speech of Mr. Milan Dutta, prominent journalist.

Mr. Bazlul Basit Choudhury, National Coordinator NMTSE & Award Programme HWF introduced HWF in detail. Mr. Nuruzzaman, MLA, Deganga Constituency also addressed the students.

Sumitra Dostidar, Famous Documentary filmmaker, urged the organiser to focus the activities in electronic media as well as in the form of documentary movies to reach out to the large segments of masses as factor of social change.

These guests handed over cheques to respective students.

In his presidential speech, Mr. Nuruddin Shah, President JIH West Bengal, urged the students to come out for social change and reformation of society. He also called upon the audience to join hands with organisations like SIO of India & HWF for the welfare of the community and the country. Lastly Mr. Helal Uddin offered vote of thanks to all.
