The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind wants to bring a positive change in society by presenting Islamic teachings to one and all in the country. Islam is the only complete Deen (Religion) revealed by the Creator of the universe and it is the duty of those who know this pristine reality to disseminate this message among their fellow citizens in a productive and amiable manner. The views were expressed by Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari while speaking on the occasion of Launching Ceremony of a Dawah Van of Islamic Information Centre in the Capital on 30 November. Maulana Omari, who is Amir (president) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, further stated that the greatest challenge before Muslims is to prove that Islam is the Divine religion and that it guided mankind in the past and is still guiding humanity towards the right path.
Maulana Omari said many people assert that they do not need divine guidance because all of their problems including social, economic, political or familial, can be resolved without this. Even if this claim is true the moot question is about the problem of facing the life after. Man has to be face to face with his Creator and account for whatever he did in this life. Where is the guidance other than this Divine source to enable man to tackle that situation effectively?
The Islamic Information Centre was established with the purpose to disseminate Islamic teachings among the countrymen. And to extend its reach to the various localities in Delhi and Haryana with the message of Islam, the IIC launched the Dawah Van nicknamed as Madhur Sandesh (the Sweet Message).
“So far we have selected a collection of some basic books on Islam in the Hindi and English languages. But we will soon add books in Bangla and other regional languages,” stated Parwaz Rehmani, secretary of IIC. He added that the van would be equipped with all latest technologies which will help the interested people grasp the basic knowledge of Islam in a better and easier manner.
Mr. Rehmani, who is also Editor-in-Chief of popular Urdu biweekly Dawat, further said that the elite class gets knowledge about Islam from the literature produced by the Orientalists while the middle class studies Islam through the lenses of anti-Islam writers. Therefore, it is the high time that we approach people with the real message of this Divine religion which is open to all without any distinction.
Mr. Abdul Waheed, President JIH Delhi & Haryana, in his welcome address, said that propagation of Islamic teachings is a responsibility of Muslims and the whole community should participate in this work. He urged the people to study the Holy Qur’ān with its meaning and the Seerah of the last Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be with him) so as to excel themselves in the field of Dawah which is obligatory upon every individual Muslim.
Mr. Mansoor Ahmad, who was conducting the programme, also informed the audience about the creation of a new website in English, road2islam.in, in addition to the already existing site in the Hindi language, islamdharma.org.
