Imperialism creates refugees across the world by forcing people into poverty and fear, said T Arifali, Asst. Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind while inaugurating the Kollam District Conference on ‘Islam is Fairness’.

“War and labour policies implemented by the imperial forces create refugees across the globe. Refugee wave is the end result of fear and insecurity created by the US-led imperial forces. Once USA, Israel and their agencies stop spying, the world will be a safe and secure place. Trump should have decided to stop spying in other countries before declaring a ban on refugees from Muslim countries. A xenophobic and racist is at the helm of the USA,” he said.

“Fascism thrives upon anti-Muslim rhetoric in our country. A baseless nationalist fervour is being propagated. If anyone talks against such trends, they are asked to leave the nation for Pakistan,” he said.

“Demonetisation has done nothing, but initiated a new way of corruption. The new government is demeaning the federal system of our country. In Kerala, the police is being misused for fascist actions. Draconian laws are being charged against innocents callously,” he added.

Sheikh Mohammed Karakunnu, Assistant Amir, JIH Kerala presided over the conference. He said that the situation, where innocent lives are being sacrificed for political gains should be curbed forthwith.

On this occasion, the keys to seven shelters constructed by JIH, Kerala were handed over to the beneficiaries. Safiyya Ali, President, JIH Women’s Wing, P. Mujeeb Rahman, Assistant Amir, T. Shakir, President, Solidarity Youth Movement, P. Ruksana, President, GIO Kerala, P.V. Rahmabi, State Council Member, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Kerala, C.T. Suhaib, State President, SIO Kerala and others spoke on the occasion.
