INSPIRING YOUNG MINDS…!

It was January 19th, 2019, and the stage was set for the 39th Annual Day function at Islamiyah Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. There was an air of elation and gusto with all students sharing their part in making the event a successful one.

It was January 19th, 2019, and the stage was set for the 39th Annual Day function at Islamiyah Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. There was an air of elation and gusto with all students sharing their part in making the event a successful one.

As the chief guest arrived, the school band sprang into tune. He was escorted by the reception committee, including members from management, the Correspondent and the Principal.

The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran with its translation. The Principal Sasikala Rani delivered the welcome speech to the august gathering. This was followed by the presidential address by our school Correspondent, K.A. Syed Ibrahim who spoke about the zenith of the school. Tamil department teacher, Kamila Begum rendered the Annual Report in academics and co-curricular activities.

The Minister of Municipal Administration and Rural Development, S.P. Velumani, Coimbatore City’s Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. L. Balaji Saravanan, Chairman of Islamic Education Trust A. Shabeer Ahamed and Welfare Party of India’s National Treasurer S.N. Sikkander were chief guests.

The minister lauded the school for raising the standard of education in the city and assured his assistance to obtaining succour for establishment of the College, the project which the Islamic Education Trust has commenced this year.

Ejaz Ahmed Aslam, member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s Central Advisory Council as well as Editor-in-Chief of Radiance Viewsweekly was there to present the minister with a memento.

Dr. L. Balaji Saravanan outlined the vision of the school that aims at imbibing a strong value system in young aspiring students. He also urged parents to lay emphasis on inculcating ethical lifestyle into children by providing an environment that keeps them from all the distractions and deviations created by electronic gadgets, including televisions, mobile phones, etc. He also mentioned how android phones are causing young minds to deviate from a more pro-active way to unethical one that has shattered every strand of our social fabric. He also suggested parents to keep track of their children’s activities, especially in their teenage years and guide them in a friendly manner.

S.N. Sikkander delivered a keynote speech on “Parenting in Islamic Perspective”. He put forth the key role of parents in instilling wisdom and social responsibility in the future generation. He also addressed the young minds on how to lead a well disciplined and successful life.

A prize distribution ceremony was also conducted to felicitate the students for their achievements, who brought laurels to the school and also for their full attendance.
