Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Syed Sadatullah Husaini held a meeting with Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries, other functionaries and staff of JIH headquarters at the JIH Conference Hall on April 18.

The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Zamirullah Falahi. Secretary-General T Arif Ali welcomed all the workers of JIH headquarters and also outlined the objective of the meeting. After the inaugural address, the participants were given an opportunity to introduce themselves.

On this occasion, while addressing the gathering, the Jamaat Ameer said this programme would have good impact. He also said that he might have met many of them, but in the meeting he came to know about them and their contribution to the Islamic Movement. “Your passion and enthusiasm towards the Islamic Movement is respectful and we all are striving for the success of the Islamic Movement. May Allah give us an opportunity to serve His Deen, grant His Acceptance to it and give us rewards and Barakah.

“The Islamic Movement is in fact the standard-bearer of the Prophetic Movement and the Prophetic Mission. This Movement has to convey the Message of God to 125 crore people. We have to translate into action the dream of a pious society the Prophets, especially Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be to him), dreamt. This headquarters is not a common office; this is the centre of the Prophetic Movement. It should be clear to each and every one of our workers that he is bearing a very big responsibility. Whatsoever job he has been assigned here, he is in fact contributing his part to the leadership of this Movement. He is performing a sacred duty. From this headquarters, we have to guide this movement across the country. Our responsibility is to provide zeal and enthusiasm and each worker has to play his role therein,” the Jamaat leader said.

Referring to the then President of America, John F. Kennedy, the JIH Ameer said when America was planning to send man onto the Moon, the President paid a visit to NASA. While returning therefrom after having talked to the scientists there, he met with a sweeper. He asked him what he did there. He replied, “I’m helping put a man on the Moon.”

The Jamaat chief said, “Unless our workers develop this level of consciousness of our objective, this headquarters cannot prove effective. Our Movement is doing a far greater task than sending a man onto the Moon. We want to take the 125-crore people of this country to the Paradise. This is a very grand mission. We all are co-workers for this mission. Someone is President, another is Vice-President, yet another is Secretary-General, while someone is at the reception and some may be driver or cleaner, but actually we together form a team and the goal of this team is to establish Islam. In a cricket team, someone is a wicket-keeper, another is a bowler, yet another is a fielder at a specific point, but all the members of the team work in unison, keeping the passion vibrant to make their team win the match. At the JIH Headquarters, every person has an important role and he has to play his role. In the Day of Judgement, Allah will not consider post; He will not consider who was Ameer and who was a cleaner, rather He will consider how well a person has completed the task assigned to him. We all have come here with the intention to sacrifice our all to His Pleasure; no one here is an employee; no one’s motive is to earn salary, notwithstanding we are given salary to meet our needs. But our main motive is not to earn salary but to establish the Will of Allah.

“Our association with the Islamic Movement and its headquarters requires us that we develop a deep sense of our Objective. The objective of this Movement should be clear to all our workers much more than that of the cleaner of NASA. We should read the Islamic literature. Even if we are not literate, we can get knowledge and consciousness with other sources of information, speeches and collective reading out of literature, etc.

“People from all over the country come to the headquarters; your attitude, behaviour and treatment with the people shall be considered exemplary. This headquarters has to be an ideal and model place, the entire environment of this headquarters should reflect our high objectives, our great ideology and our lofty principles.

“This programme was an occasion for our detailed introduction but I could not become aware of your thoughts and suggestions; some other time will be spared for this, in Sha Allah; your suggestions must be considered. Some among you are so senior that at the time of their joining this headquarters, I was not even born. Your company, enthusiasm, experiences and sacrifice will benefit not only the headquarters but the Islamic Movement, the country and the world.

Your supplications are required not only for me but for the entire leadership.”

At the end of the programme, Secretary General T. Arif Ali extended vote of thanks. Mr. Iqbal Mulla, Secretary for Dawah, compeered this programme.
