Worried by the current situation where there is increased statistics of alcoholism, obscenity, and as a result an increase in violence against women, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has been campaigning nationwide against them for several years.
As a part of creating awareness against these evils, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu is conducting a “Healthy Living Awareness Campaign” from October 2, 2015 to November 1, 2015.

We are creating awareness through folders depicting the evils of alcoholism, street meetings, short film screening, signature campaign, and counselling for abstaining from alcohol.

As a part of this campaign, we met our district collector, Mrs. Archana Patnayak, IAS on October 19, 2015 during the Petition Day and gave her a memorandum on complete abolishment of alcohol along with the thousands of signature obtained during this campaign. The memorandum also consisted of requesting immediately closure the TASMAC shops in Brookfields Mal that is one of the places with highest number of public gathering and also one near the ESI Hospital. Also, request for closure of TASMAC shops near religious worship places and educational institutions was made.
This event was presided over by Mrs. Farzana Riyas, District President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s Women’s Wing, in which huge number of women participated for abolishing the evil damaging our society and nation.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind is a social movement that is working in our nation for the past 70 years for constructing a nation that has inclusive growth and a society that is at the pinnacle of ethics.
