Writer, thinker and expert in economics, Bharat Jhunjhunwala, based on his book, “Common Prophets of the Jews, Christians, Muslims and Hindus,” was trying to prove, through Genealogy, the sequence and nature of the events, the period and the time that the Jews, Christians, Muslims and Hindus had the common prophets. With some historical evidence he has tried to prove his point that Hindus and Muslims had common ancestors; they may have been geographically divided in due course of time and there is ample historical evidence to prove it. Jhunjhunwala was speaking at a public meet on ‘Common Prophets of the Semitic Religions’ organised by Indian Institute of Islamic Studies on 12 April in the national capital.

As per his study, the Five Prophets of the Semitic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), namely, Adam, Cain, Noah, Abraham and Moses lived in the Indus Valley and Moses led the Exodus from here to Yisrael. Among these, a Great Flood took place at the time of Noah according to the Bible. We suggest this was the same Flood that took place at the time of Vaivaswat Manu. During his talk, he also presented many references to prove his point that Adam lived in India.

“According to a Hadith, the Prophet Adam was once taken to Heaven and was shown a plant and four rivers originated at its root (Bukhari, Hadith 054:429). We find exactly such a situation at Pushkar. Here four rivers named Sagarmati, Saraswati, Nahar and Dai emerge from the base of the mountain and flow in four directions. Indeed, the same Hadith says that two of the four rivers were the Nile and the Euphrates. The Hindu texts similarly say that four rivers flow from Mount Meru, where Brahma started creation,” claims Jhunjhunwala.

This book presents the hypothesis that certain early Prophets of the Semitic and Hindu religions were the same persons who lived in the Indus Valley. Moses or Krishna was the last among these. He led the Hebrews or the Yadavas from the Indus Valley to Yisrael. The hypothesis is based on the fact that the geographical descriptions are given in the Bible and the Qur’ān on the one hand and the Hindu texts, on the other hand, match with the Indus Valley. Adam, Cain, Noah, Abraham and Moses lived in the Indus Valley. Swayambhu Manu, Indra, Vaivaswat Manu, Rama and Krishna lived in the Indus Valley. Adam was the same person as Swayambhu Manu, Cain was Indra, Noah was Vaivaswat Manu, Abraham was Rama and Moses was Krishna, he claimed.

Jhunjhunwala, while making a comparison and drawing a parallel between Abraham and Rama and while sketching some historical events, also made a point that Ram was born at Ghuram. “The Bible says Ai was located east of an unnamed river. The Ramayana similarly says that Ayodhya was located on the banks of the Sarayu River. Thus both the destinations, namely Ai and Ayodhya, were located near a river. We suggest this river was Ghaggar, and Ai or Ayodhya was located at Ghuram,” mentions Jhunjhunwala’s book.
