JIH Continues Assam Relief Work

Recently Assistant Secretary-General Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Muhammad Rafeeq Qasmi and Muhammmed Shafi Madni, Assistant Secretary-General and In-charge of Assam Relief Work visited the affected Area of BTAD, Assam. During their visit three programmes were arranged in Kokrajhar Sub-Division, Gossaigaon Sub-Division and Chirang District.

Recently Assistant Secretary-General Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Muhammad Rafeeq Qasmi and Muhammmed Shafi Madni, Assistant Secretary-General and In-charge of Assam Relief Work visited the affected Area of BTAD, Assam. During their visit three programmes were arranged in Kokrajhar Sub-Division, Gossaigaon Sub-Division and Chirang District.

Both the Jamaat leaders addressed a huge gathering in Mahamari under Kokrajhar Sub-Division on 2 July 2013. And the same day a livelihood programme was arranged among Muslim and Bodo people in Padmabil under Gossaigaon Sub-Division where they distributed the following among the poor and affected people of both the communities (Bodo and Muslim):

Rickshaws               :               16

Bicycles                   :               5

Sewing Machines    :               5

Hellies                      :               8

Goats                       :               10

Both the Jamaat leaders participated in the programme, and spoke to the people of the affected area and also inspected the ongoing 350 House Construction Project of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind  in Kamarpara, Mahamari, Musalman Para, Debdebi and other villages in Kokrajhar District.

A Mass Marriage programme was also arranged on 3 July 2013 where 34 boys and 34 girls were married under the guidance of Maulana Muhammad Rafeeq Qasmi and Muhammed Shafi Madni. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind presented gift kits to all 34 couples. Nikah sermon was addressed by Maulana Muhammad Rafeeq Qasmi. In all these programmes Jamaat State President A. Hamid and Relief Field In-charge M. Shams Ahmed accompanied the central leaders.
