Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s Delhi Malayali Halqa will embark on several initiatives to address the under-representation of minorities including Muslims in government sectors, the Halqa president Raji Rauf has said.
He added the group has planned to organise several social development programmes in coordination with other institutions and personalities. These include conducting seminars and discussions, and a campaign to create awareness among Delhi Malayali community about importance of collection and distribution of Zakat.
Mr Rauf, recently elected president of Delhi Malayali Halqa, was addressing a gathering of professionals and students studying in various universities in a function held at Kerala Club in Connaught Place.
The meeting elected Noufal P.K, Muhammad Shihad, Faheema Abdullah, Dr. Habeeb Rahman, Muneer Vazhakkad and Zubair Omassery secretaries of Public Relations Department, Media Wing, Women Cell, Academic Cell, Study Circle and Social Service Cell respectively.
Halqa General Secretary Ahmad Mansoor delivered reception speech while Vice-President Misa’b Irikkoor extended vote of thanks.
