Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan is all set to work for reconciliation between the confronting Meena and Gujjar communities in the state. State president of JIH, Engineer Muhammad Saleem announced in a two-day conference of the State and district heads of the organisation. The outcomes of recent Lok Sabha polls and the tasks carried out by Jamaat according to its policy and programme were also discussed at length in the conference.
“We are happy that our democracy and people both have proved to be ‘mature’ in this election,” said Mr. Saleem. “People have clearly indicated that there is no room in Indian politics for the forces of communalism and hatred, dividing the society on the basis of cast and religion, and having fascist mindset,” he added.
He was of the opinion that the task is not over by only casting votes and electing a new government. The communal and fascist forces have been only put a bit away from the corridors of power, but their danger still remains at social level. Hence there is a need to strive hard together in order to maintain harmony and brotherhood among the citizens and the government should also be reckoned to take stringent steps to stop the communal and fascist forces. Jamaat has passed some resolutions on its post-poll activities.
Keeping in view the post-poll cast disgust and probable conflict between the communities, it was resolved that the Jamaat workers will make efforts along with other social and human right organisations to reconcile between the confronting groups and establish peace and harmony in the affected area.
The house agreed that it was the duty of every citizen to impress upon the government to fulfil the promises made in their election manifesto. The Jamaat will form a committee to look into the matter.
The Jamaat will strive to get implemented the recommendations made by the Justice Sachchar and Justice Rangnath Misra committees, especially those about special quota for minorities in the OBC or reservation and their appropriate representation in police, military and other administrative services.
The Jamaat will demand from the government to issue a white paper on the terrorist incidents that took place in past 10 years and their investigation and judicial processes carried out so far. It will also demand to speed up the legal process going on against the people arrested in the name of terrorist activities, and to review the investigations carried out so far in the bomb blast cases at Ajmer Dargah and Jaipur.
“A pressure will be formed on the government to carry out high level probe in the cases of Batla House Encounter and 26/11 Mumbai Attacks, in which Mumbai ATS Chief Hemant Karkare and his team got martyred, as we believe that the real face of terror will be exposed by these investigations as well as we shall be able to put terrorism to an end,” the statement said.
