An English Audio-Visual Software of the Holy Qur’ān prepared by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind was released by JIH Amir and Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari during an august function organised by JIH Soba-e-Dawat at Indian Law Institute, New Delhi on 9 March. The new software aims at helping the users read as well as listen to the Qur’ān in both Arabic and English ayat-wise and thus makes understanding the Divine message easy.

The organiser of the releasing ceremony and Secretary JIH, Mohammad Iqbal Mulla, in his welcome address, said the basic purpose of this software is to put forward the right knowledge and message of the Qur’ān and clear the doubts, misunderstandings and propaganda about the Qur’ān and Islam. He emphasised that the Qur’ān which is a book revealed by Allah is for all human beings, not for Muslims only, and was not as many believe written by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be to him).

In his presidential address, the JIH chief said the Qur’ān is a complete guidance and offers complete solution to each and every aspect of life and provides the best system for the whole life. It talks of religious freedom, which is more than enough to reject the false propaganda that Islam does not provide religious freedom and that Islam was spread with the help of a sword. Till date it is a challenge that there can be no better system of life and belief than what is put forward in the Qur’ān and that no one can ever present a book or a chapter or even a verse better than the Qur’ān.

Mr. Wasi Ahmed Nomani, Advocate Supreme Court and expert in Qur’ān and Science, said that during a conference held in Dammam University in 1981 renowned scientists from around the world concluded that embryos develop through six stages in the mother’s womb based on the research 40/50 years. When the scientists participating in the conference presided over by Dr. Keith Moore was informed that it was said already in the Qur’ān some 1400 years ago, they initially found it difficult to believe but when they themselves studied and came to know the truth they unanimously declared that the Qur’ān is the Book revealed by Allah and not written by an individual. Nomani also praised JIH for its remarkable work in spreading the message of the Qur’ān far and wide and also for raising the awareness of Islam among the large segments of masses.

Another religious scholar Amrit Shesh said that the basic idea and philosophy of the message that we get from the Holy Qur’ān is establishment of peace and brotherhood. For a peaceful coexistence and a better way of life first of all it is important to purify our soul and the Qur’ān is the best tool available on the face of the earth to purify the soul in order to promote peace and tranquillity.

Mr. Gyan Chandra, a well-known Vedic scholar asked the people to shun khudparasti and adopt khudaparasti. He urged the Muslims to inform all non-Muslim brethren about the Qur’ān and what it means to all mankind and how people can get benefit from its guidance.

Delivering vote of thanks, Mr. Waris Husain said that the basic aim of this audio-visual software is to make people understand and follow the Divine message. He also informed the audience that the JIH has already launched audio-visual software in Hindi and is planning to come out with such audio-visual software in other Indian languages in near future.
