Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s newly-elected national president (Ameer), Syed Sadatullah Hussaini, while addressing his first press conference along with senior leaders of the organisation at JIH headquarters on April 8 asked the Muslim youth to become asset to the country, not liability and play proactive role in nation building, progress and growth of the country.

The JIH national president praised the role and contribution of the outgoing Ameer Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari and, while seeking his support and guidance in particular and others in general including media, said Jamaat is continuously working for the betterment of the humanity and the methodology and the modus operandi of Jamaat is known to one and all.

“Our community should try to reach out to all communities to build bridges and strengthen their relations with all religious communities, including Hindus, Sikhs and Christians. Hatred and animosity resulting out of divisive politics is today the biggest challenge we all are facing today which is hampering the social fabric of the country. In order to meet these challenges our youth should come forward to reply with love, care and compassion and should try to win their heart. This to my mind is the most important work to do. In addition to this we should try to empower us socially, educationally, economically and in all other fields,” said the newly elected president while replying to a question on the challenges today and the way forward.

The JIH Ameer, while replying to another question, said, “Vote on development issues and not on the basis of divisive and emotive issues. Some political parties are trying to polarise society on communal and divisive issues. Vote for the party or candidate who is in a position to defeat those doing divisive and communal politics. He addressed the monthly briefing along with new Secretary General, T Arif Ali and three new Vice Presidents, Mohammad Salim Engineer, S Ameenul Hasan and Mohammad Jafar.  Outgoing Ameer, Maulana Umari and Secretary General, Salim Engineer also addressed the media persons.
