Calcutta Falah-e-Aam Society organised a scholarship distribution programme at the M.M. Model School. The Society has been organising such events on various occasions. The programme was attended by numerous undergraduate students, who are working hard to achieve their respective goals in life. The main aim of this programme was to give out scholarships along with a few words of wisdom, which will help them in life.

To spread this message of wisdom, Sabir Ahmad, a social scientist, was invited. The audience, comprising mostly the students, heard his speech with rapt attention. He spoke about being “smart” in life and not to live according to the likings of the society. He said that to earn money and to be happy in life, there are countless numbers of ways in this magnanimous world. Being a doctor or an engineer is not the only thing in this ever-changing world. He also said that students should not only read the books prescribed to them, according to their syllabus, but to read a plenty of other things like newspapers, magazines, biographies of famous personalities and so on, so that they stay loaded with information. By doing so, they will surely discover many ways of success in life besides discovering new professions as per their liking.

He concluded his speech with a reference to a poor girl to whom assistance and guidance were provided and that transformed her successfully into a powerful woman. Small help and timely care by the society at large and dedicated and focussed labour by the recipients can do wonders. Dr. Shabbir Ahmad and other social activists associated with the Society and guests also attended the programme.
