Rihai Manch, in a press statement on 10 August, said that the acquittal of terror accused Yaqub, Naushad and Jalaluddin by the court has exposed as to how the security agencies are falsely implicating innocent Muslim youth in terror cases. It also claimed that if the Samajwadi government had fulfilled its promises made during elections to release innocent youth held for terror charges then these would not have suffered and their precious years could have been saved.

Mohammad Shoeb, President of Rihai Manch, who was also lawyer in this case, said that after the arrest, recovery of four and half a kilogram RDX was shown. But now after their acquittal, the police and the government must clarify from where they received the RDX and where it is now. Shoeb also questioned whether this RDX will be further used to fabricate and falsely implicate innocent Muslims. He demanded strict action and suspension of all police officials and those from the investigating agencies involved in falsely implicating innocent Muslims in terror cases. It must also be enquired that on whose order they had arrested innocent Muslims or whether the communal forces had influenced them.

Rajiv Yadav, spokesperson of Rihai Manch, said that Zakir, who had been missing for months, has now returned. But there are a lot of questions that remain to be answered and the role of investigating agencies must be probed to find out the truth. He alleged that conspiracies are going on to arrest innocent Muslims and the manner in which Zakir disappeared and came back substantiates these claims. The Government over the years have played in the hands of communal forces and is still doing the same.  Yadav asked the people and especially youths to remain vigilant against all such conspiracies against them.

On 6 August, a special court acquitted three terror accused for lack of evidence. The court, in its order, said that the Uttar Pradesh police failed to prove the case as there were many discrepancies regarding the recovery made and the version of the witnesses. The UP STF had arrested Yaqub on 6 June, 2006 in Charbagh area and claimed to have recovered four and a half kg RDX, detonators, timer watches and a battery. STF had claimed that they arrested Naushad and Jalaluddin based on the input provided by Yakub on 23 June, 2006.
