Qasim Syed, Editor Urdu daily Roznama Khabrein, said that the ideological battle following JNU row is an important development in our socio-political context and it is most likely to reach some conclusion come what may. He made these statements while addressing the gathering at the weekly meet organised by Jamaat-e Islami Hind at its headquarters on 12 March.

Qasim, while opening up the discussion, said that the recent incident of Rohith Vemula, Kanhaiya and Khalid is not just like any other incident but it has put India at the crossroads socially and politically and Muslims will have to decide what role they have to play in the fast changing scenario. The JNU incident has provided an opportunity for the Left to recharge them on the political scene and is doing everything to shield JNU their strong turf and they have done it accordingly.

Qasim cautioned the Muslim leadership about the ploy of RSS/BJP furthering their sectarian dividend and encouraging one over the over to harm the cohesiveness of the Muslim community. We can understand with the statements made in the past on Wahabism and Sufism; they are very dangerous.  He also said that Muslims’ compassion and obsession with Mosques and Madrasas has yielded positive results but ignoring Media as the establishment has weakened their power and strategy to defend the negativity propagated against them and their religion. The community should renew their obsession with Media; then only they can be able to counter the onslaught on a regular basis.

On the Babri Masjid issue, he said that preparation is going on and almost completed for building a temple on the Babri Masjid debris and the community has to remain cautious and watchful of all the developments taking place overtly and covertly.

Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Omari, Ameer JIH, in his reflection, said Muslims have always abided by the law of the land and their stand on the Babri Masjid is clear from the beginning that they will accept the verdict of the Supreme Court. However, the claim that it was a mosque would remain till our last breath. But what is surprising that those who are in favour of building Ram Temple there on the Babri Masjid site never say categorically that they will accept Supreme Court order even if it says that it is a mosque. Omari further said that the leadership of the community should have a common minimum programme but the question will always remain who will lead the way. We have to become self-sacrificing for the larger interest of the community and above all for the sake of unity.
