A distinction has been maintained between what is lawful and what is unlawful in all religions. Islam has more specifically demarcated a line between the two. That’s why traders and businessmen should take care of this distinction while doing their respective businesses. This observation was made by Senior Faculty Member of Aligarh Muslim University while speaking in a Traders Conference at State Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition at Muktakash, Aligarh.
Dr. Shakeel Samdani, who also happens to be President Sir Syed Awareness Forum, said that if a businessman escapes from the clutches of worldly laws he cannot escape from the punishment of Allah.
He further said that corruption is rampant in almost all countries in one way or another but unfortunately food corruption is highest in India. Eatable items are adulterated and it is very difficult to get unadulterated and pure food items here. Due to this phenomenon a majority of Indians are suffering from various diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, heart problems and other serious diseases. He appealed to the traders present in the gathering to contain this menace, expose the culprits and hand them over to police. He also requested district authorities and traders to make arrangements for constructing toilets in busy markets. Non-availability of toilets in cities causes great inconvenience to women, children and old people.
Dr. Samdani, while congratulating the dynamic general secretary of Aligarh Udyog Vyapar Pratinidhi Mandal, said that the presence of a large number of Muslims and Sikhs reflects the secular character of this organisation. He appealed to the traders to maintain peace and communal harmony in the city.
Mr. Shamim Ahmad Khan, Chief Development Officer, said that he was fully with the Vyapar Mandal and was ready to solve their problems provided they are just and reasonable.
Pankaj Pandey, S.P. (city) said that Prof. Samdani has raised many vital issues in this conference which must be addressed by the trading community. He said that adulteration in food is a heinous crime which should be curbed with a heavy hand.
President, Women Wing, Shiva Patak, Advocate forcefully advised the traders to include more women in the organisation so that their organisation and business become stronger. Shaman Maheshwari, General Secretary of Vyapar Mandal said their organisation is a secular organisation and at the time of crisis it has tried to promote communal harmony and peace in the city. He forcefully said that FDI will not be tolerated by the Vyapar Mandal and they are ready to fight it with all their might.
In this conference, President, Hotel Organisation, Vivek Bagai, Muqeem Ahmad, Suchendra Gupta, and others also expressed their views. In the last, mementos were presented to Shamim Ahmad Khan, Dr. Shakeel Samdani, Pankaj Pandey (S.P. City), Ram Mohan Singh (CO1), Satya Prakash Yadav (CO2) and office bearers of the organisation.
