We have not learnt Deen from its original sources. It came to us through the sermons of different religious leaders and the knowledge of Deen we are having right now is fully affected with some specific sects. These are the views Dr. Waquar Anwar, Member Advisory Council Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Delhi & Haryana. He further said what we need to do is to start studying the Deen afresh. “I have seen some youths preaching Islam and talking of its principles with full confidence. This happens only when they go through the original sources of Deen,” he added. Mr. Anwar was delivering a lecture on “Challenges of New Era and Islam” at the headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in the Capital on November 3.

People have rejected all religions save and except Islam. However, Islam is not spreading as fast as it is supposed to. The only reason behind it is we the Muslims are not presenting it in a reasonable way before the world. Muslims should provide an alternative in every field be it science and technology or the field of social work or politics.

The Jewish forces have been exploiting different tools to engulf all the available sources for their dirty purposes. Now they are presenting nationalism against religion. Mr. Anwar further stated that mere presenting theory will not suffice. We will have to face the grassroots level challenges. Quoting as an example from the traditions of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be to him), he said that our preaching would get better results provided we associate ourselves with the poor. “We should address the new issues in a new way rather than repeating the same answer with different tones in a louder voice,” he added.

“Islamic revolution will come for sure. We should think whether or not we are going to be a part of this revolution,” said Mr. Anwar winding up his lecture. In response to a question why western civilization has been dominating though people are fed up with it, he said, “It is inertia of motion. It will continue dominating the world until an equal or more powerful force is applied from the opposite direction.”
