WPI Kota Holds Anti-Communalism Protest

Marking the 24th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition, Welfare Party of India, Kota held a massive protest and burnt the effigy of communalism in Kota. Hundreds of workers and social activists gathered in the protest to demand punishment to those who are responsible for the demolition of Babri Masjid.

Marking the 24th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition, Welfare Party of India, Kota held a massive protest and burnt the effigy of communalism in Kota. Hundreds of workers and social activists gathered in the protest to demand punishment to those who are responsible for the demolition of Babri Masjid. They held placards with slogans like ‘Communalism Down Down’, ‘Punish the Guilty of Babri Masjid Demolition’, and ‘National Unity Zindabad’.

Addressing the gathering, social thinker Vinay Singhal said that rising communalism in the country is a threat to national unity and integrity and the countrymen should come forward to stop it. He also said that the country will develop by following the path of Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

Human rights activist and Dalit thinker, Rajesh Shakyawal also addressed the gathering. She said that 6 December is the birthday of the Constitution framer Bhim Rao Ambedkar along with Babri Masjid demolition anniversary. So we should take a solemn pledge today to protect the Constitution and resolve not to let Babri Masjid demolition like incident happen again.

Welfare Party district president, Asif Hussain said that the four incidents in the country have given bad name at national and international levels. First was gruesome assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, the second was 1984 Sikh massacre, the third 1992 Babri Masjid demolition and the fourth 2002 Gujarat massacre. He appealed all justice seekers and those fighting to preserve and protect the Constitution to unite and fight against communalism.

State president of Youth Wing of Welfare Party of India, Rajasthan Mohammed Khalid said that 6 December 1992 is the black day of the Indian history when communal forces demolished a religious place in broad daylight. It shamed the whole country. He further said that it is condemnable that the culprits of Babri Masjid demolition have not been punished even after 24 years of the incident. He demanded to punish the culprits immediately. He also said that since the Babri Masjid-Ramjanmbhoomi case is sub-judice, objectionable statements on Temple-Mosque controversy should be prohibited.
