When It’s Too Late to Mend!

When It’s Too Late to Mend!

The Qur’ān presents the stories of earlier communities who were destroyed for their rejection of the Truth. It directs our attention to the fruits of labour they reaped owing to their stubbornness in rejecting the Message of Truth conveyed to them by the Messengers of God, because they are indicative of human life and its course of history. The crime of their rejection of the Truth was so enormous that God did not defer His Chastisement to the Day of Judgement, but rather He punished them right on earth and made them serve as deterrent to the generations to come.

The Universal Upheaval

The Universal Upheaval

The Qur’ān foretells man that a Day shall come when the life on earth shall come to an end, ‘when the earth is violently shaken and the mountains crumble away and scatter abroad into fine dust’ (56:4-6), when the mountains that look so mighty shall be ‘like fluffs of carded wool in varying colours’ (101:5), ‘when the sky is cleft asunder, when the stars are scattered

Then, Therewill be No Escape from God’s Grasp

The Qur’ān presents a vivid portrayal of the Day of Judgement. That Day will be quite different from the present physical world. In the present world, God has given us some powers – the power to do some work and the power to flee from danger and hazard, etc. But these powers are limited. While God the Almighty has infinite power. And, on the Day of Judgement, men will have literally no power.

There can be No Denial in the Hereafter

There can be No Denial in the Hereafter

Those who do not realise the Truth, do not believe in God and His Prophet ﷺ, do not follow the Divine Guidance and do not care to mend their lives as they continue to tread the ill-trodden path left behind by their ancestors, in fact lead a sinful life. In most cases, they can be seen immersed neck-deep in sins, crimes and corruption. They are quite oblivious of its consequences. They lead this sinful life almost machine-like. They perhaps think that this earthly life is the end of life. And, when some righteous person reminds them of the Day of Judgement, they reject it, rather mock at it.

Coping with Calamities

Coping with Calamities

Life is not always a bed of roses. Nor is it always a bed of thorns. Life goes on as usual but sometimes the Lord Creator and Master subjects man to some kind of test by sending some calamities that cause loss of life and properties. He knows each of us quite well as He is All-Knowing but He subjects us to test just to know us through our deeds and our responses to the test He sends.

The Warning Given to Critics of the Prophet’s Mission

The Warning Given to Critics of the Prophet’s Mission

When Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was presenting the Message of God to the tribesmen of Makkah, it was not that every person was ready to accept it. Only a few blessed souls, whom God willed to guide to the Truth, responded positively and became followers and supports of the Prophet. Those who chose to reject the Divine Message left no stone unturned to criticise the Prophet, to reject him and in fact to sabotage the Prophet’s mission. But the Prophet ﷺtook all this criticism in stride as God Himself advised him to bear all vain things with utmost patience and forsake the critics.
